All the matches in the tournament were played with the best of one format. The top 128 players were selected from online play during December 22-January 17, 1999. The top 128 played in the "regular season" from February 5-March 12, 1999 before the top eight played in the offline championships May 21-22, 1999.The regular season brackets were played single-elimination online, while the final eight played in a double-elimination championship bracket at XS New York, a cyber cafe, in New York, New York, USA.

There was another 5000$ Given to the players placing 9th-32nd. This will be edited if more sources are found.
