Taiwan eSports League has leagues for Special Force 2 (aka Special Force online) and Kart Rider. These are clones of Counter-Strike and Mario Kart, respectively.

This article claims that "Chen “Hao” Zhihao, 24, of China raked in more than $1.1 million in a combination of tournament winnings and endorsements playing “Dota 2,". Maybe there needs to be a disclaimer at the top of the page that explains that the site only lists prize money. I could see that it would also be helpful if there's something that explains that players make money not only from prizes but from salary, sponsorship, streaming and other sources. A lot of articles that cite this site tend to assume that the numbers listed are the entirety of player income.

This tournament had a bunch of Nintendo 64 games: Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Tennis, and GoldenEye 007

EVE Online had a $10000 prize tournament in 2012. http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/eve-online-news/new-eden-open-congratulations-to-asine-hitamas-team/

This and other MMOs have tournament for valuable ingame prizes as well, should these be included on the site?

(edit: I also added a runescape old school server tournament that I know happened)

Do you mean by this? If you're wanting to enter these competitions as a player, you'll have to go to a website and register.

Can you add a dropdown menu to add "players of the same series" and "players of the same genre"? Currently there's only an option to add any player in the entire database, and 20000 entries takes a while to load.

Also along those lines it would be interesting to display the aggregate earnings for game series and genres.

The prize for winning either of the three division was a $10,000 savings bond, a 40-inch rear-projection TV, and a ’90 Geo Metro convertible, and a special Mario trophy. The total retail prices I estimated are around $321,740.00 (300,000 of which came from an auction for one of the trophies in 2012!)

1990 Nintendo World Championships (it was a single cartridge with Super Mario Bros., Rad Racer, and Tetris)

Site Discussion » Bug Report Thread

It seems like if you try to edit a player's tenure on a team page AND add a reference to that player at the same time, the reference will save but the dates entered won't.

If you enter a prize amount with a comma, it will say list the same number in the green confirmation text. However if you submit that same prize entry it will cut the value off at the comma. In other words if you entered "10,000" it will register as 10 even though the green text will say "$10,000"

(edited another bug in because the system won't let me double post lol)

Okay sorry this is a lot but here it goes:

  • A.V.A (leagues various Asian countires)
  • Destiny (MLG had a cash contest for its streaming partners)
  • Mario Kart DS (at EVO 2006)
  • Command and Conquer: Red Alert (PGL)
  • Tetris (apparently has a world championship)
  • Natural Selection (there have been tournaments for years)
  • Various arcade games like Donkey Kong and Pac-Man (played by Billy Mitchel Steve Wiebe etc)
Site Discussion » Player dates on team pages

Are the dates of a player's time on a team designed to be inclusive or exclusive? The problem I'm dealing with is that most of the roster transactions in the MLG Halo era were unannounced until the next month's tournament. So if Player A is listed as having spent 2005-05 to 2006-08 on Carbon, will all or no events on those end months be included on the team earnings? For now I've been assuming that end dates ARE included.

Other Competitive Games » Chinese Names

Just a heads up there are some Chinese names that are only two characters long. Also there are a number of two character family names, the most common being "Ouyang" (歐陽/欧阳).

The recent Pokemon national and world tournaments award scholarship money and booster packs (I guess you can list the MSRP of those) http://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/worlds/2014/info/prizes/

I'm not sure exactly which GH titles were played, but they were the ones from around 2004-2012 (edit: it seems to be II and III)

Can you add the Pokemon and Guitar Hero series?
