Tournament Info

The "Tournament Info" tab summarizes the tournament data and events associated with the tournament.

Options

  • Edit Tournament Info
    Open the "Edit Tournament Info" form.

  • Duplicate Tournament Info
    Copy Tournament Info into the "Add New Tournament" form.

  • Change Tournament Logo
    Change the logo used on the tournament's main page.

  • Send Tournament to Recycle Bin / Retrieve Tournament from Recycle Bin
    Send the tournament data to the Recycle Bin to delete the changes. Published tournament will be unaffected. If already in the Recycle Bin, this will retrieve the data and re-assign it to the current contributor.

  • View Published Tournament
    View currently published tournament information. Disabled when adding a new tournament.

  • Add To Event
    Select an event to add the tournament to, or create a new event for the tournament.

  • Send Tournament To Publishing Queue / Publish Tournament Immediately
    Send the tournament data to the Publishing Queue once all changes to the tournament are complete. If you have publishing privileges, you can publish the tournament data immediately.

  • Go to Publishing Queue
    Navigate to the Publishing Queue page.

  • Return to Main Admin Page
    Navigate back to the main menu.

Setting the Primary Event

If a tournament is associated with more than one event, you can change the primary event. This determines which event and league will be displayed in the navigation bar at the top of the tournament page. A icon indicates the selected primary event, and you can click on the icon next to an event to select it as the primary event.

Edit Tournament Info

  • Tournament Name (short)
    Short-hand and possibly abbreviated name of the tournament. This is the text used in tournament listings to link to the tournament page.

  • Tournament Full Name
    Full name of the tournament, including the title sponsor if applicable. This is used as the header for the tournament page. Since most tournaments - especially smaller online cups - don't usually have any fancy titles, this may be the same as the short tournament name.

  • Location
    The physical location, accurate to the town or city, where the tournament takes place. If this is purely an online tournament, the location will be "Online". This is displayed on the tournament page.

  • Online Only?
    Indicates whether or not the tournament was online only. Check this box if the tournament had no offline component, or uncheck if the tournament had an offline finals. This is used to separate online and offline prize money in calculations.

  • Start Date
    The date when the official matches for the tournament began. This is displayed with the End Date to show the date range of the tournament, used for informational purposes only.

  • End Date
    The date when the official matches for the tournament ends and a champion is declared. This is used in calculations to determine when prize money is awarded.

  • Currency
    The currency in which the prize money is awarded to players and teams. This is used to determine the format in which prize money is displayed. It allows enables the Exchange Rate input field if a non-US currency is selected.

  • Exchange Rate
    The exchange rate of the currency to US Dollars on the day the tournament ends (the day specified on End Date). Since all prize money record on the site is calculated in US Dollars, this allows the prize money to be recorded and displayed in its original currency. This field will be visible if a non-US currency is selected.

  • Game Played
    The game that is being played in the tournament. If there is more than one game, use the last game played, usually the game played in the grand finals. This is used to separate data between games in calculations.

  • Team-based Tournament?
    Indicates whether or not the tournament is played between teams or individual players. Check this box if the tournament is played between teams (2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, etc.), or uncheck if the tournament is played between individual players (1v1, FFA).

  • # of Players/Teams
    The number of players or teams registered to compete in the tournament, depending on the Team-based Tournament? checkbox. This is displayed on the tournament page and used for informational purposes only.

  • Description
    The description of the tournament. This is used to supplement the information on the tournament in paragraph form. The Parsedown language can be used to format the text.

  • Hide Tournament
    Indicates whether or not the tournament is hidden on the site. Hidden tournaments are not viewable in the public areas of the site, and is excluded from calculations. Useful for hiding duplicate tournaments and malicious additions, and can be made visible again if need be.

  • Summary of Changes
    Describes the changes made to this particular revision of the data.


Results

This form is used to modify the players and prize money awarded in the tournament. The information and forms shown are based on the Team-based Tournament? checkbox.

1v1 / FFA


Add Earning

  • Player
    The player associated with the earning. Click on Select Player... to open the Player Selection Box where you can search for and select a player.

  • Auto-Detect Squad on Player Select
    When selecting a player on this form, this indicates whether or not their associated squad will automatically be detected based on their published team data. Uncheck to disable this feature.

  • Role (text displayed depends on the game)
    For games that have "roles" associated with it, you can select the role of the player here. If the player has a default role associated with this game, you can select <use player default> to select that player's given role. If applicable for the selected game, this will be displayed on the tournament page, and used in calculations to separate prize money between roles.

  • Append Role to Player
    Indicated whether or not the selected role will overwrite a player's existing roles for the tournament, or append to an existing list of roles. Check the box and add the player again to add additional roles to the player, or uncheck to replace the list of roles with the selected role, default roles, or no role.

  • Prize
    The amount of prize money awarded to the player in its original currency. This is the raw value in which all prize money on the site is derived from. The Exchange Rate will be used to convert the value to US Dollars.

  • Ranking
    The ordering in which the prize money is displayed. Ranking values 1, 2 and 3 are used specifically for gold, silver, and bronze placements respectively, providing slightly larger text and a unique background color to those earnings.

  • Rank Text
    The formatted rank text associated with the earning. Click on Select Ranking Type... to open the Rank Text Selection Box where you can select the rank text. This is shown on the tournament page as well as player results pages. See Rank Text Selection for more information.

Associate Squad With Earning

This sub-form is used to determine which squad is associated with the earning in the "Add Earning" form.

  • Squad
    The squad which will be associated with the earning. This field will be disabled if no team is selected. Depending on squad settings, this will display either the team name or squad name on the tournament page. Selecting <none> will remove association with a squad from the earning.

  • Team
    The team in which the squads are retrieved from for selection. Click on Select Team... to open the Team Selection Box where you can select the team. See Team Selection for more information.

Earnings Preview

Below the "Add Earning" form is a preview of what will be shown on the tournament page, as well as other ways to modify the data.

  • (Modify Earning Data)
    This will copy all of the data of the respective earning to the "Add Earning" form. Useful for editing a specific earning without re-entering the data manually.

  • (Create Earning Note)
    This will add a note to a particular earning, used to add additional information. Useful for describing the circumstances of a disqualification or mentioning a non-monetary prize.

  • (Remove Earning Data)
    This will delete the respective earning.

Team-based Tournaments


Add Earning / Edit Earning

  • Team Name
    The name of the team associated with this earning. When adding a new earning, this will open an autocomplete box of teams. Selecting a team will automatically fill out the Team Name and attempt to auto-detect the squad and players associated with it. Please note that if a team has a title sponsor that changes that team's name for this tournament, it should be changed in this field to account for it.

  • Prize
    The amount of prize money awarded to the player in its original currency. This is the raw value in which all prize money on the site is derived from. The Exchange Rate will be used to convert the value to US Dollars.

  • Ranking
    The ordering in which the prize money is displayed. Ranking values 1, 2 and 3 are used specifically for gold, silver, and bronze placements respectively, providing slightly larger text and a unique background color to those earnings.

  • Rank Text

  • (Remove Earning Data)
    This will delete the respective player from the team.

References

The References tab allows you to view and modify references that provide evidence of the data's legitimacy.

  • Reference URL
    The webpage on which evidence of the tournament's results and prize money has been published.

  • Reliable Source?
    Indicates whether or not the provided reference can be considered reliable.

Tournament References

  • (Remove Reference)
    This will delete the respective reference.

Event References

Any events associated with this tournament will have their references shown here. Event references cannot be changed here.
