New Image Entry System

Contributors will now be able to add logos to the site. This is one of the many requested features from years ago, and although the image selection process is - admittingly - a bit crude, this functionality is now in a state that can be rolled out and used. Press CTRL+F5 on any relevant pages in the Development Area to update the client-side script files if you experience any errors.

Because the new functionality required changes to the publishing code, only league logos can be modified at this time in order to isolate any potential bugs that may arise. Images behave similar to player data in that it can only be published when data its associated with is published as well. Once it's been used and abused without any issues, the new functionality will be rolled out for events, tournaments, and team logos. Due to formatting and copyright requirements, game images and player photos will continue to be restricted.

In addition to being able to add logos, the logos themselves will be automatically scaled to three different sizes. The largest sizes will be used on their respective data's main pages, while the smallest can be used for listings to be created in the future. All existing images added prior to this update are now obsolete and will need to be replaced.

There is still a lot of features that still need to be implemented. Here's a small list of upcoming features:

  • Archives - View older revisions of data and revert changes
  • Recycle Bin - Discard changes manually or idling in the Development Area
  • Publishing Privileges - Long-time contributors able to publish changes in the publishing queue
  • "Proper" Search Engine - Add a dedicated search engine server and improve existing features related to search
  • Quality-of-Life - Identify and streamline tedious and repetitive tasks where applicable
